An exceptionally rare original AGIP illuminated sign, produced using thermoformed plastic and dating from the second half of the 1950s, during the early years of the iconic Six-Legged Dog identity associated with Enrico Mattei and the Supercortemaggiore era.
This is one of the earliest thermoformed AGIP sign designs produced for the Italian market. The compact format is particularly rare, with fewer than three known examples in Italy, making this an exceptional piece for collectors of Italian petroliana and automobilia.
The sign is complete, original, free from cracks or breaks and fully functional. Its distinctive thermoformed construction, early AGIP graphics and extraordinary rarity make it one of the most interesting surviving examples of the brand’s early illuminated advertising.
